Dr. Uma Krishnan (MSc, M.Phil, PhD in Clinical Psychology)

Consultant in Clinical Psychology, Dr. Uma Krishnan did her post-graduation training in Kasturba Medical college, Manipal then completed PhD from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. She is associated with Psychology associations and an RCI registered Clinical Psychologist. She has been working in the field of Neurodevelopmental Disorders for period of 13 years in Bangalore. Her one of the main focus is in research works. She has been undertaking workshop for parents and trainers in the area of technology-based intervention and iPad as a tool for early intervention for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. She has been working in behavioral management of children with Developmental Disorders. Her expertise are in Training computer and iPad skills for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She is working in interventions for adolescents and personality related issues also undertaken hypnotherapy for stress related issues and other disorders.

  • Worked as Clinical Psychologist in Abhaya Hospital, Bangalore from September 2006 to April 2008
  • Consultant at Prathyasha Neuropsychiatic and Child Guidance Clinic, Bangalore from 2009 May to 2017 June
  • Worked as Clinical Psychologist at MVJ Medical College and Research Hospital, Bangalore from March 2014 to April 2015
  • Started own center, Abhyan Center for differently abled in 2017, Bangalore for early intervention and vocational training for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other intellectual diabilities.
  • Guest Faculty in Department of psychology at Acharya Institute of Science and Technology, Bangalore from June 2016 to January 2017
  • Worked as Clinical Psychologist at NIT Calicut June 2017 to January 2018.
  • Associated with Spandhana centre for special needs for children with autism spectrum disorders and other intellectual disabilities.
  • Conducts regular workshops in therapeutic interventions in child and adolescents issues.
